| Re: SJ Drive Line All the early 650 models used the small shafts, but the waverunner 3s had a problem bending the subshaft in the engine compartment. When Yamaha went to the larger sub-shafts for the waverunner 3s to deal with the bending issue, all the other models shafts were also increased in diameter. I don't really see any advantage to the either shaft in the SJ application... the weight difference would be small.
