Polaris 780 performance mods

First, I'd like to say how cool it is that you offer your tech advice on here for free.

Now my Q is:

I see that you have performance kits for Polaris 750, but nothing for the 780. Why is that?

Can the 780 carbs (mikuni SNB 38) be improved upon from your carb work?

Thanks

Re: Polaris 780 performance mods

I think all of groupk's 750 stuff can be applied to the 780. It is not very different from the 750 really.

Re: Polaris 780 performance mods

We spent quite a bit of time testing with the 780 & 785 models, using the similar kinds of mods we had such good success with on the 750s. Sadly, the power increases of the 780/785s were not nearly as big as we saw on the 750s, and the increases we did get just couldn't merit the costs of doing the work. As a result, we simply did not offer any mods for the 780/785 models.

Regards, Harry Klemm

Re: Polaris 780 performance mods

I can't imagine Polaris left much room for improvement with the 785 (nearly 150hp stock), but the 780, that surprises me.

I too am quite surprised the 780 didn't take well to the mods.

Especially the carb mods.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.
