piston size

Harry,

my name is willie and i talked to you on friday about doing the bore and hone on my 87 js550 and you told me to make sure i got the correct up size piston. my question would be how would i know what the next size up would be?

Measure the old one and add 1/2 mm. But then again, if you had deep scoring in the cylinder bore, you may need even bigger. What you should do is just send Harry the cylinder and let him determine and provide the right pistons for you. He needs them anyway to finally hone to the right clearance.

Trust me, you really want him to have the pistons in hand when does the bore and hone. Every piston is different and this will make sure your clearances are good.
