backflushing

Here is a question I posted elsewhere but I thought I should post it here instead, since it is a Group K motor and you Harry might have a better idea what's going on inside my head (my cylinder head that is) that might cause this problem...

----

When I try to backflush my motor, it spits-n-sputters and will barely run unless I run the motor pretty much wide open.

I am posting a picture that shows the water routing. The line going to the stinger was partially hidden so I highlighted it.

For backflushing I am using the pisser that leads to the fitting on the head over the front cylinder - see picture.

The volume of water flow is minimal - about the same volume that flows out of that pisser when I'm riding.

It starts sputtering 1-2 seconds after turning on the water - it doesn't have time to fill the waterbox and entire pipe.

Any idea how water that is supposed to go around the cylinders is getting in the cylinders?

I thought about a bad head gasket but the motor only has about 3 hours on it since Group K assembled it. And it runs fine in the water.

Any ideas?
