anything to gain on dual 42 keihins on a 750 bigbore?

I have read your threads over and over reading your recommendations on carb set-ups. I would like your opinion on running dual 42 keihins on a 750 small pin bored to 83mm. Is it just a waste of gas or is their some major improvement on acceleration and/or top end running dual 42s? I like the thought of running a single carb for ease of tuning, but I am willing to tune duals if it is worth it. Also, would you happen to have a good starting point for jets on either set up? single or dual carb? I am also running a factory pipe on my ss/xi and fly flame arrestors along with a skat 10/18 impeller and a stock big pin head.

thank you for your plethora of knowledge that you offer to us all!

I guess I need to pay the $1070 for the bigbore setup to get my questions answered. fair enough.

Re: anything to gain on dual 42 keihins on a 750 bigbore?

In small pin days, the dual 42s were a common choice that worked well on high rpm setups ... but their relatively weaker signal, and the poor availability of metering parts made them a bit tough to tune in lower rpm ranges. When the dual Mikuni I body 40s came out in 1996, they were an overall better choice because of the wide range of adjustment parts ... and still are today.

Also please know that during this peak season, I am putting in very (read "very") long days taking care of the day to day business of engine work, customer phone calls, and emails. I'd like to say that I always have the time to instantly answer posts on this forum ... but during the peak season, there are only so many hours in my day.... it just is what it is.

Respectfully, Harry Klemm Group K
