Big thanks to Newmiller Machine in Oregon for the great work! (Mcn6 on PWCtoday)

I have a 650 that looks just as bad. I was wondering the same thing.

How much of the piston was missing? A good welding shop should be able to fill in the deep gouges and reshape the damaged dome

Re: 750 PJS head damage... can it be re-cut?

If that were a stock head, I would say "no problem at all" to fix it via machining. We often get stock heads that look like this (and worse). After we do our standard milling and squish cut, 95% of the visable damage is removed. In some cases there are still a few remaining indentations, but they are of no concequence to performance or reliability. That machining mod normally runs $90.

All that said, there are some "aftermarket" heads that were cast with much less excess material to allow for that kind of repair (the Ocean Pro heads were the worst in this regard). PJS had more than one casting they used for their heads, so we would have to examine the casting to make sure it has enough casting mass to tolerate the machining repair.

Respectfully, Harry Klemm

OK, I have a stock head, would the stock head (after milling and squish cut) be as good as the PJS head in terms of performance?
