720 rotax starter on but motor not running

I have what I think is a 1996 spx 720 motor
its been ported and after market head, piped
any way it is mounted in my freestyle 1994 barracuda using the shark stop and start
the starter has been running and the only way to turn it off is to disconect the battery
as soon as you connect the power back up its ok until you try it again
but of corse when you bring it home it doesn't do it

is it the relay sticking or the switch

the engine does not start or some times role over but the starter will not stop running without disconnecting the battery

has anyone else had this problem

Had the same problem on a newer XPL, it was the stater solenoid.

I am not familiar with that particular machine, but it should just be in one of the electrical boxes. Just follow the leads from the starter to an electrical box,and it will be in there. They are easy to open, and a b1tch to get back closed.
