550

besides the cylinder on the reed moter 550sx is the head the same? same with bottom end crankshatft? i am thinking about putting a reed moter in a 550.

A reed motor will drop right into any JS/SX 440/550 hull

While the crankshafts are the same, the bolt pattern spead is different between the reed and piston port versions of the 550. The reed motor will drop right in.
Keep in mind that the 86-94 550s came with 21' ignition flywheels that mandate 4' timing advance, and the pre-86 550s came with 28' flywheels that need 3' of retard (the 440 flywheels are 25' and run stock timing).
