| Sub Catagories in Classifieds? What do you guys think? What about sub catagories like maybe by make, or further like Kawasaki 2 stroke, kawasaki 4 stroke, etc. If you post a classified now, it drops to the 5th page in 24 hrs.
Just a thought. I am sure it has been brought up before. Just my .02.

| Re: Sub Catagories in Classifieds? What do you guys think? People just need to get accustomed to using the search function.
No way to keep every seller on the front page all the time. Just not gonna happen. If we create 10 different classified sections, then you'll just have 10 different front pages to search anyhow. Also, you'll have many of the daily "bump" and "ttt" sellers just listing ALL their stuff in ALL the sections, even the ones where it doesn't belong. More sections won't change the fact that there are just way more sellers today than their were a short time ago...

I still think it would be a good idea to atleast break it up into brand. Forum Suggestions

| Re: Sub Catagories in Classifieds? What do you guys think? I have seen that method used on other forums - and I liked it!
It works for me because I only play with 2-stroke Kawi stuff.

| Re: Sub Catagories in Classifieds? What do you guys think? yea, i am a member of the mr2 forums and they broke it into generation differences and then had a general section....worked great.
the general section was used for things that worked in all generations. for example, bildge pumps for skis.

| Re: Sub Catagories in Classifieds? What do you guys think? That is what I was thinking. If a guy has a Super Jet, and might want to add some performance parts. he can browse through the Yamaha section, vs doing a search for pipe, prop, head, etc.
I am also part of other forums, and that is how they do it. Seems to make sense on this site, if nothing else but because of large number of members.
Anyone else?? |

| Re: Sub Catagories in Classifieds? What do you guys think? Hello,
I think seperating them by brands would be good, but "ideal" would be: 2 stroke Kawasaki, 4 stroke Kawasaki, 2 stroke Yamaha, 4 stroke Yamaha, 2 stroke Seadoo, 4 stroke Seadoo, Polaris, Honda, then maybe lump the rest of the brands that are not made anymore into a vintage or something like that.
This way, if someone rides a newer 4 stroke Seadoo, he is surrounded by only 4 stroke parts, and likely owners.
Another idea is to start a PWC only marketplace site here. Where buyers can buy and pay here. JetskiPlanet has something similar. Charge a flat fee if item sells, just as long as it is lower than Ebay. That would be great for all of us PWC riders, and PWC Today could make a couple of bucks too!
Thanks for your time, Great site! |
