SJ top end rebuild?

I have an 08 SJ with a few mods. I need to rebuild the top end and was wondering if i have to buy a standard piston kit 81.0 or can i install 81.25 or 81.5 piston kit without boring the cylinders?

Re: SJ top end rebuild?

depends. You can go standard if nothing is wrong with the cylinder walls, and have enough compression. But if one of the cylinders is scored, depending on how bad, will depend on how much boring will have to be done by the shop. What I would do if I were you is bring it in to the shop and have him take a look and then see if you need the .25 or the .5 O/S and then order your O/S piston and rings. Then you can decide if you want forged or cast pistons!

Good luck

also this is probably in the wrong area, mod, move to correct forum!!
