Looking for a 550

Hey guys. I owned a 440 and 550 for awhile years back. I never did actually ride them before i got rid of them. I sure would like to find a beat up 550 for cheap to start leanring on. I'd appreciate any help. -Trent

Keep your eyes pealed on craigslist, they seem to surface every couple months.

Here is one local, pretty nice ski, lots of aftermarket and a good price.

Re: Looking for a 550

Yeah, i keep looking on there. I'm talking with a guy that has a 650 for $250. The motor is in a box needing rebuild. I rather find one together and a little rough. I don't know if i take the chance on something that's apart and needing a new motor.

This one guy said he has a 550 for $1450. I emailed him back and said "so it must have a built motor and nice paint job right? He said "good luck retard". Moral of the story is, watch out for those Craigslister's.

Like i said, years back i bought a 440 for $300. I had to drive to Chicago to get it, but it ran mint.

What do think guys? $250. See anything missing? Any shops around to clean those cylinder walls up for me? Looks like it would need new pistons. That one looks melted?

Re: Looking for a 550

Sweet another rider on medicine! I live nearby, and I'm currently building a ski to get my friend riding on medicine next summer too.

edit: I don't know about that motor, the hull might be ok though

Re: Looking for a 550

No I'm near NW boulevard and W medicine lake dr, but my buddy whom I'm building the ski for has some lakeshore.

If you want to find a ski, I would take a look at this guy's 550's for sale. He probably has a ton of aftermarket parts too.
