Hey guys, my girlfriend and I want to go stay in the Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater area (from Daytona) and bring the ski. It seems there's so many places to stay and go, I was hoping you could help me narrow it down. We're going the second week of August. I figure check in Fri, figure out where we want to go and what to do, maybe go out that night. Sat take the ski out, sight seeing? Then she wants to do a paddle boat or sunset cruise type deal. We'd have Sun to play on the ski as well if we wanted. Just looking for some pointers from the locals, maybe a convenient place to stay even. Thanks for any advice!

well if you stay in the St. Pete area jetskiing to egmont key or Ft. Desota area is a decent trip, but well worth it, and plenty of people go if you go during the weekend I'm sure a few people from here would even join you, usually we have a few ski's and a boat go to egmont and cookout, it used to be a fort and has all kinds of old stuff to look at.

That sounds awesome. How about snorkeling? She wanted to do an excursion, but I have gear for two, and we have the ski. Is there any decent place we can go on our own accord?

What area would you suggest staying in St Pete to do the Egmont Key or Ft Desota trip? I was looking at places with marinas, but I guess that's unnecessary, as long as there is a hose hook up at either the ramp or hotel for cleanup afterwards. Then just launch at the most convenient ramp...
