Southwest Florida Summer Ski Fest 2008

Ok. lets get this show on the road!!!!!! Todd and I will be visiting Lovers Key this week to review details on this years event. It will be the weekend of July 18 thru 20. It pretty much goes the same each year as those of you (which has been a lot) attend year to year know. Our local dealers are hurting quite a bit with sales so we might not be having the sponsored happy hour food this year. It's understandable the way the economy is so I think we can adapt. Were working on this though. The crowd might be smaller due to traveling and gas prices but small is good when it comes to mangrove ZIPPING! Right TODD? I'm a tad behind with moving this along due to a rough year of family and friends passing on. But, this should get my spirits jumping. We'll do our best to entertain everyone as usual. Once again, when contacting Lovers Key Resort make sure that you mention the you are with the naples ski group to get the discounted room price, which I really don't know what they are. I'll find out when we go over this week.

hey tj , i went to the ralley in st pete back in may, and alot of people told me about this ski fest at lovers key, so i am going .this will be our first time down there. we are bringing five jet ski's down for some fun . our rooms were 157.00 a night. see you then

Joe, you'll have a blast at Lovers Key. Have you spent much time speeding around any mangrove trails? The rooms at Lovers Key Resort are actually little apartments, big bedroom, kitchenette's, large bathrooms and a living room with a pullout sofa. Large pool, hot tub and a great restaurant/tiki bar on site, pool and beachside. Most of us leave our ski's right in the water over night. Gas stations only a few minutes drive north of the resort, or the marina is also a 15 minute slow cruz, no wake zones, away by water. Bring gas cans and drive up to the gas station in the evenings is what a lot of us do. No glass by the pool, so bring cans or plastic cups for beer and drinks poolside.

TJ, better get the gardening tools out, the trails need some loving.
Me and Greg did a run from the Hyatt all the way to Hendry Creek and in some places even we had a tough time getting through.
Our helmets took care of most of the spider webs but our puny skis were no match for the bigger branches, instead we jumped over them.

Boris, I remember a few years ago when you tried trimming a tree with your head! Stick to those smaller branches and try using a saw. Even though Natasha thought it would knock some sense into you. I think it just knocked a few MORE screws loose. You dry docked the sit down and picked up the stand up a little after that, right?

Looks like there are some new rules over at the resort.
Not quite as friendly as before that is unless you have a room there.

Some young punk from maintenance was trying to enforce some new rules today. Even tried to raise his voice at me when I jumped into the pool.
Guess the fact that he had a walkie-talkie made him immune to pain.

Anyway, the resort isn't like it once was and even several boaters mentioned that it was their last time out at Flippers.
