600 Mile River Trip

Well the Tennessee River 600 is days away. A little late to get on board this year, but you might want to check out the photos from past rides at www.tennesseeriver600.com
This is the 12th year the ride has happen and it is a benifit ride for Childrens Hospitals. A very good cause. Plan you vacation time for next year to include a ride you will never forget in your lifetime.

Curiosity, has anybody ever done this on a stand-up?

Re: 600 Mile River Trip

Now that summer is over I'm starting to plan my 2009 riding season. AS soon as you have the 2009 riding dates; I'm in.

TRAWLERCAT (SoCal Watercraft Club); maybe I can get a few others to also come alone.

Are you an avid Personal Watercraft (PWC) rider, or do you know someone who is? If you are interested in spending eight days cruising 600 miles on the Tennessee River and raising money for the Children's Miracle Network, then this is the place for you!
To find out what the Tennessee River 600 is really all about, check out our About Us page. If you don't have enough time in your schedule to join us for the entire trip, check out our 2008 Itinerary and consider joining us for just a day or two. Hopefully, we'll see you on the water!

Yes to the Stand ups. We had 3 of them for a couple of years at first when we started the trip. The problem with them were the Locks. The Lock Masters would not allow A rider to stay with his Ski when dropping the lock. First time they tied it up and got on the seat of a sit down to lock through then later had their Road crew met them in front of the lock and trailered them around which give them a huge head start as most of them back then wouldn't run as fast as the Sit Downs could. Also the fuel capacity in the Stand ups gave them a limited distance they could ride and our fuel stops back then were about 50 miles apart. We now have lists of all the fuel on the river that are open. The next year they cam they came with a sit down jet ski which carried extra jugs of fule along with them. I don't have records dating back that far as to where some of those guys came from but want to think it was Indiana, not sure.
But yes we have had Stand ups on the ride before. You really got to be tough to do that many miles standing up
There is no way this Big Fat boy could handle any part of that kind of adventure. Big George

Good Show. It was great having you guys come from Cal and Minnesota? Sorry I didn't get to know you better. Guess I'm one of those who starts slow and then engages the Cruise Control and just go steady at about 45. Hopefully next year we will have the trip shorten up a day and will try to do the long legs except Sat, on as the article said Glass smooth water. We didn't really have the Speed demons with us this year with their modified Jet Ski's so we were able to stick a little closer together, lol. Keep in touch with me as I will probably be one of the first ones to know the itinerary and we are talking about making a few changes to the dates. Big George

Re: 600 Mile River Trip

It looks like I might be moving to Grand Forks ND for work. Needless to say there is not much jet skiing around there. Im thinking about taking a week off in the summer to go on a ride. I think this would be a fun one to go on. Whats the age range of the riders?

Re: 600 Mile River Trip

All ages. You will have the Red River to ride in Grand Forks. Not sure about the temps but I know the river is there.
We have a couple of riders in there teens or just past it and range all the way up to one that is over 86, but hasn't done the whole trip in a while now. Most are in the same age bracket as yourself with families. You would fit right in. Big George
