River rides?

What are some good rivers to ride between cola and mb? I have always loved the idea of shooting down a calm curvy river on my ski, but I have no clue where to start. I took a boat from lake Marion to Charleston one time, but was wondering if there was something in the north eastern part of the state that, say, connects to the intercoastal or something. just curious. thanx

Re: River rides?

Does anyone have some more info on ridding the Congaree River? I am planning on ridding down from the Thomas Newton Landing to Lake Marion this weekend. I hoping there is plenty of water in the river but being I have never done this I have no idea what conditions will be like. Anyone want to join or have any knowledge of this ride? Below is a brief description of the ride. The ride should be about 75-80 miles each way from what I can see on Google Maps. Is this correct?

I have been looking at doing a river ride down the Congaree River one day. I think it would be a ton of fun. My ideal spot to put the skis in the water would be just below Columbia at the Thomas Newman Landing and ride all the way to Mill Creek Marina in Lake Marion.

Some questions I have.
1.How deep is the river?
2.What kind of obstruction will be in the river (logs, rocks, etc.)?
3.How fast does the river normally run?
4.Anything special I need to know?
