Kentucky's 2009 Trail Ride

Here we go again everyone. Starting the second year of some awesome trail riding. October 2nd through October 4th. For those getting in on Thursday evening, we will do some riding as well on Friday. For those that cannot get here until Friday evening, we will be leaving my house on Saturday morning driving approximately 35 miles to Williamson WV to the Hatfield McCoy Trail head. From there, we will ride about 4 hours over some great terrain to Matewan WV. Matewan is an ATV friendly town and we can just ride off the trail, down the street and have lunch in a variety of restaurants. GREAT FOOD AND DRINKS! Leaving Matewan and heading back toward Williamson through some different trails including the options for some black diamond trails. Saturday we will have a choice of hitting another trail on the Hatfield McCoy system farther north or riding local hitting some different terrain such as strip mines including some abandoned train tunnels and creeks. If you missed this ride last year, you will want to make sure to hit this one.

Re: Kentucky's 2009 Trail Ride

I'm down for sure. I have 1/2 day off Thursday and full day off Friday. We should ride Rockhouse Trail on Friday.

The trails for the Saturday ride to and from Matewan are on the Buffalo Mountain trail system. Go to www.trailsheaven.com Be prepared to bring a little extra cash as you'll need to get a trail permit for the Hatfield McCoy Trail System. It's good for an entire year and worth is as you'll for sure be back down again to ride.

Tucky. Thought of another thing. Does everyone need a spark arrestor for their exhaust on McCoy trails? Up at Silver Lake I had to have one. Our favorite bartenders still at Malibu's?

Only if you follow tuck into the mud bogs. Me and cerv took our sport quads on these trails and nothing we couldn't get thru. You gonna come down. You should.

Yes, you need the spark arrestors. The girls are still at Malibus. 4X4 is nice but not required. They have alternate routes for those wanting the heavy oatmeal bogs like I hit. Joe, who cares? This is more fun. LMAO
