| Proud new owner of standups Just bought a 1990 Superjet a couple weeks ago. The guy wanted 1000 for it but i ended up getting it for 800 with a free SX650 thrown in The superjet is pretty mint engine is very clean, and it has a Solas dual scoop grate other than that its stock. Came with a brand new slippery cover too
The kawi had no paperwork and the guy didnt think it ran, but i got it home and replaced a missing line to the primer put new plugs and caps on it and some fresh fuel and she ran like a dream. Broken motor mounts but we did have her out for 5 minutes. Planning a winter project 550/650 conversion. Just need a 550 hull with mounts when i can save up a few bucks then i can fabricate everything at my school. CAN YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN WELD NOW INSTEAD OF TAKING MATH AND SCIENCE! haha can't wait.
But yea new here my names Matt and im one of the youngsters at 16 that appreciates a good standup. Pretty pathetic when i talk to some people my age about skis and they say they have one and i ask if its a standup they are clueless and actually say "well you can stand up on it if you want to"

But yea im gonna try to drop the 650 in a 550 hull cause i cant get the sx registered so i have a 650 motor and everything tempting me, and my schools program lets you do bring in your own projects id just have to remove the gas tank then id have the hull and engine right there to do measrements then weld up whatever i need to with the plate and do whatever other fabricating i would need to.

| Re: Proud new owner of standups Hey, you little dudes who fund your own toys rock!!
Well done on a great buy. Wish we could bring cool projects to school back in the dark ages when I was there, should have learn't to weld too as recent efforts have looked very similar to bird crap!
Good luck with your project. If you get sick of New York winters you can come and stay here, the rents cheap, just have to look after the kids and house work!! |
