Re: i'm training

1. Ride as often and as long as you can.
2. Ride in the worst conditions you can find/handle (don't get yourself in trouble, but do challenge yourself).
3. For cardio, I suggest long, slow cardio. You don't have to do crazy on the intensity, but since the Hahn is such a long race you'll want to emphasize long bouts of cardio.
4. Recommend doing cardio that works the whole body as often as you can. These would be things like the rowing machine, the versa climber, swimming, elliptical trainer machines that use the arms (some have "poles" that can work the upper body...some do not).
5. A total body strength training workout a few times a week will help as well.

Re: i'm training

Honda boy,
Always do your chores, listen to your parents, do your homework,
Have good values, be nice to everyone. And when your dad notices that your doing all the right things. It'll be a lot easier to ask him to step up to the plate and build you a real fast boat to keep up.....

Then after your done racing, you'll have to have your pit crew carry you back to the pit area to rub your hands and feet because you won't have any feeling left in them from holding on for dear life for 300 miles. And as you sit there wondering " what was I thinking" and wishing you were an adult because you see the old guys next to you swallowing down vicodins & beer to kill the pain while your eating some kind of brownie cakes & Gatorade. Yep you'll have something to look forward to...

Re: i'm training

Get a standup and race your local region IMO.JNR racing is getting HUGE in the USA.
We have 4 JNR standup riders in Oz currently that have raced meets .

Forget the couch and go standup if you are young...put some serious pressure on the old man...he must be open minded after all he purchased a Honda.
