NJ is F u c k e d U p

Long Beach Township, NJ. All up and down the intercoastal off of Long Beach Island , NJ the state police have not yet put the "no wake " cans in the water yet. WTF. I called and they told me that the employees who set them up are out of work temporarily due to state budget cuts. There were tons and tons of boats and skis that were flying thru the no wake zones because of it. The channel is very close to the homes and docks at many points and so many people were just flying thru. You would think that the operators of these boats and ski's should know the rules ( even without the cans ) So because some state employees are on a work furlow ( spell check there ) people's safety are at risk. I think it's a bunch of crap that these markers are not in the water yet. Anyone else deal with anything like this.

Re: NJ is F u c k e d U p

I got out of there 3 years ago and will never go back, not even for a visit. My taxes have gone down 75%. I no longer pay tolls to use roads that should have been paid for out of the 4 times higher taxes. I used to pay a minimum of $15 to launch a boat or ski. Now I have 15 free ramps within driving distance. It was common to have to pay for a Beach Pass to use a NJ beach. All I need here is a towel and something to float on. People in Rural Tennessee actually make eye contact and say hello. Only time people in NJ made eye contact was while giving the finger. My wife still like to read the Asbury Park Press on the internet. Today she showed me a story from my old ex town, Manchester. The school kids went on a field trip, to the zoo, no, to the Statue of Liberty, no, to the nearby ocean, no, to the local landfill, yes!!!! I could go on and on but you folks still stuck in NJ are painfully aware of the rest. it never ends and it obviously is not getting any better.

Sounds pretty accurate for the most part. The shore I go to is one of the nicest spots in NJ IMO. It's a barrier island that is 18 miles long and 3 / 4 blocks wide. Most of the people on that Island are as nice as any you would meet.

Agreed - LBI as well as Island Beach State Park are among the nicest beaches anywhere.

I've visited Jersey once, and I can't figure out why someone would voluntarily live there.

It's got it's fault's but... It's close to NYC . It's got great beaches,
It's got A.C and it's casino's.... You can drive to killer mountains to ski in the winter and great golf courses too..... Plus Hurricne runs a great coke and ho business there.....

I called the " aid to navagation " bureau and they said the markers should be in next week. It sounded like there is only 1 crew that is responsible for putting them in the water and they are working their way from north to south. They are short staffed from budget cuts and they said that when someone retires, they are not being replaced.
