First Annual Blue Marsh Freeride

Thought I'd start a thread for this and see if it floats or just sinks to the bottom miserably.

There's tons of eastern PA guys who ride blue marsh on a regular basis. If you ride 3 days a week you run into 30 different people. There's also a ton of eastern pa guys who might not ride blue marsh but are still local.

So here's the idea......

An outlaw ride. No premits, competitions, raffles, or any of that crap. We just show up, set-up a home base, and ride.

I think the state hill ramp would be the best location for something like this.

As long as we're all respectfull and aren't doing anything stupid, I don't think we'll have any problems.

If you're in and want to throw a date out there, please do so. I'll post this on the X and also let some of the local guys know who aren't on the forums.

http://www.nap.usace.army.mil/sb/bm_guide.htm

Note: This isn't limited to stand-ups. Sit-downs are welcome to come too.

Let's hear your 2 cents

I'm down. I normally ride the DE but I will make the trip. How are the water cops there?

The water cops aren't too bad. I've never been stopped. For the most part they're too pre-occupied with worrying about people sneaking in without paying or people double tubing to worry about people doing tricks. When I pass them they tell me to do subs, haha. Just make sure you have a license, registration, etc, and you shouldn't have any problems.

Re: First Annual Blue Marsh Freeride

Its a good idea but everyone knows that weekends in blue marsh suck. The ramps are filled with people who do not know how to back a trailer down the ramp and cops giving out tickets. I hate crowded ramps. What about a massive run during the week. This way you will know exactly who is comming for the ride and not get people lost in the weekend runabout. Make it a "national jetski ride day"

Only problem is people getting off from work.

Re: First Annual Blue Marsh Freeride

I'm fine with a ride during the week. I think that would be better. Just don't know if people will be able to get off. But I agree, national go ride your jet ski day!

As far as weekends go, with the exception of the 4th, blue marsh hasn't been that busy on the weekends lately. Even then, it reaches a max capacity and they start doing one in one out which even that isn't unbearable. State hill has that open riding area and those two coves too, not to mention the long stretch where people could go jump some boat wakes. As far as the ramp goes, if people bring a couple carts, no problem. Either way, the line isn't too bad.

I've seen over 15 stand-ups there, and nobody was having any problems.

Re: First Annual Blue Marsh Freeride

You know I am game! Either a weekend or weekday works for me. If a weekend is more feasible you should check out riding Peach Bottom. Free launch, never crowded on the weekends, deep, Sandbar to hang out at....also have a dock to grill and cook out on. just throwing another spot out there.

Re: First Annual Blue Marsh Freeride

Peachbottom would be great. Is there a beach or bank or something we could pull a bunch of skis up too or just the sandbar?

Re: First Annual Blue Marsh Freeride

I will get the address tonight and post it up. There isn't a sandy type beach besides the sandbar. it is rocky like blue marsh. So a stand would be nice. All depends on the river height. You can check out Peach Bottom, PA for a guesstimate.
