Re: Blue Marsh PA this sunday

Haha, I kinda gotta agree, not the nicest lake in the world, but hey, there's a pretty decent stand-up crowd up there, one of the biggest stand-up lakes around. The boat patrol can get rough and water isn't the clearest, but it's always a good time. Weekdays are the best!!! Dead calm, no BP, and the majority of people there are stand-up riders!

When you gonna come ride with us Greg? Think some of us are planning on going up April 4th??

Re: Blue Marsh PA this sunday

you live 15 mins from a NICE lake, i ride the nasty *** susquehanna river. you dont need to worry about 1. ecoli 2. low water 3. dams downstream ( if you break down ) 4. floating debris from upstream 4. rocks. I'd kill to live 15 mins from blue marsh

I live 5 minutes from a ramp where I can drop in the schuylkill, where I have to worry about 1.) shallow water 2.) dead bodies 3.) schuylkill skum 4.) diseases 5.) submerged rocks and pieces of metal (make sure you have your up to date tetnus shot) 4.) dead bodies. Also no place to beach.

Re: Blue Marsh PA this sunday

oh jees if you'd kill to live here, i'll sell ya my house and move to the bay or beach? k? lol. and blue has plenty of issues as far as ecological reasons go, I actually know two people that got nasty ear infections from the lake(the water gets overly warm for the type of ecosystem in the dead of summer due to lack of current, or so i hear from the eco people on a fishing site I visit regularly) its not horrible, but not the best place on earth either. i've pretty much fell in love with running in the bay last year.

my girls parents have a boat in the c&d canal summit north marina and i take it down there, even though stand up aren't allowed in the canal their marina owns this little chunk of area where their inlet hits the canal and i go out there and wait for barges, and they leave some sick massive rollers(bent my steer plate in half last year)

april 4th? weather looks pretty warm this month ;D

edit: ya the skook is not the safest place for anything lol, although catfishin is real good, they like to feed on bodies so i hear ;P

and ya the standup community is good at blue marsh, best i've seen, heck at the bay people ask what i'm on sometimes haha! didn't see you around last year at all sarge, where you been? (although i was going mainly weekdays, maybe we just didn't cross paths this year)
