Replacing Neg. battery cable - 96+ Superjet

During one of the surf events this year our 02 Superjet took a hard side landing.. the hood latch twisted apart/broke, the hood fell off and went to the bottom, and the battery inside the hull was still hanging on by its wiring, but had its way w/ the negative cable.. pinched it against something when it hit.

I looked online, and Yamaha wants $45.00 for the cable.

Here's what you need to create your own Neg. battery cable from scratch.

Note: Haven't hooked it up yet, may need to replace both eyelets..

1. Your booties and plastic tubing from old cable.
2. Champion 'powerpath' battery cable #713694 (4 gage, 36")
3. Champion 'powerpath' 1/4" eyelet part #728005
4. Heavy rubber shrink tubing

Here goes... This ended up costing me $7.64 (comes to about $15.75 list at your local auto parts store)
