Jet skiers rescued after night at sea

A cigarette lighter proved no shining light for two men stranded overnight after their jet ski broke down in Moreton Bay off Brisbane.
The 24 and 20-year-old men from New South Wales lashed themselves to a marine beacon after their attempts with the cigarette lighter failed to stop passing boats last night.
They had life-vests, but no other equipment and spent a cold night on the back of their jet ski.
Just after dawn a boatie spotted the stranded pair.
He alerted police but his mobile phone battery ran out before their exact location could be given.
The Brisbane Water Police and Redcliffe Coast Guard were deployed with the pair found safe and well a short time later.
They were taken to Scarborough with their jet ski in tow.
