Two Injured When Jet Ski Explodes On Orange County Lake

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Two people were riding their jet skis on an Orange County lake at Moss Park when their personal watercraft blew up.Luckily, they were not seriously hurt.Eyewitnesses said they saw a piece of the watercraft fly up into the air and catch fire after Sunday's explosion."And the jet ski was on fire and a kid came out and put it out. And then they pulled the man out and he had a big gash right here and his ankle was broken," said eyewitness Chelsey Parker.People who were jet skiing nearby helped rescue the injured man and woman and get them to an ambulance.

Ya, pretty poorly written story.

They insinuate that both Kawi's blew up at the same time.

Maybe Hollywood is remaking a James Bond movie.

Pisses me off the illusion that there are jetskis and waverunners. When I tell someone I have Jetskis and they say "oh, is it a jetski or a waverunner?" I say, "Like I said, I have Jetskis. These are kawasaki brand name Jetskis, 550 stand ups." I admit, I use the word Kleenex when referring to any old tissue but that's a little different than a Jetski.

Goes way back to when sitdowns first came on the scene and then all of a sudden, anyone could ride a PWC. Shortly thereafter, the bad press began and the industry took a huge down turn. Luckily, PWC proponent groups and fights against the environmentalist espionage have brought the sport back around to be respectable in the general publics eye. I feel human again....

Mr Ski, I agree with that. Not to bash sitdowns or anything but there are a lot more morans on the water because of them. Anyone can just "sit and go" Before the introduction of the sitdown those people would just be on the beach. It takes a more awareness to rid a stand up. But there are always a few morans.

"Jet Ski" doesn't necessarily refer to stand-up. It just refers to Kawasaki, and they make stand-up and sit downs.

Actually it can refer to any PWC, ignorant people can call them all waverunners, jetskis, seadoos or whatever...

I always just say "jet ski" it is the most easily understood by people who are not real enthusiests like us. Then every once in a while some A-hole will ask me "do you mean a waverunner?"
