True or False - MV Agusta takes to the water with 308bhp Jet Ski?

I just ran across this on a search engine prowl....not sure if it's legit, and I'm sorry if it's already been posted, but I thought I'd share.

The press releases/links I found just slightly pre-date the most recent Hydrospace runabout announcements, but reads:

Details are scarce, but this Jet Ski is powered by a V8 made from fusing two MV Agusta F4 1078RR 312 engines together. The resultant 2156cc, 308bhp, carbon fiber–hulled monster is called the F4 Interceptor. Motorcycle engines have long served duty in jet skis. Previously, the most powerful was powered by a 250bhp, supercharged Kawasaki ZX-14 engine with a top speed of 68mph.

and...

"MV Agusta has again stunned the world with its brand new F4 Interceptor : Its engine is a V8 2156cc developing 308BHP.

This engine is actually made of two F41000 312 engines, assembled with a single crankshaft, and slightly detuned because it will not be conected to a proper gear box...

This Interceptor is ... a jetski !!! "

and finally....

"The MV Agusta F4 Interceptor, a carbon fibre hulled V8-engined PWC, is the currently the world's fastest and most expensive PWC. Recently unveiled by MV Agusta at the Milan Motorcycle Show in Italy, the F4 Interceptor features a new engine which is fused by two motorcycle engines together. Agusta has taken two of its high performance 1078cc four cylinder engines and created a Swiss-watch-like 2156cc V8 powerplant which will power the limited-edition 308 bhp, carbon-fiber–hulled, two-seater. Info about the F4 Interceptor is scarce, but we know that it has a CDI ignition, electronic fuel injection, a 3-blade stainless steel impeller, uses a 160mm high pressure axial flow pump and is claimed to weigh in at an astounding 238 kg dry. An issue still to be resolved before the MV Agusta F4 Interceptor is allowed in the U.S. market has to do with the fact that the F4 Interceptor does not go along with the agreement between the manufacturers and the Coast Guard that no standard PWC will exceed 65 mph. But surely there will be some kind of compromise. You'll be able to find limited numbers of the new F4 Interceptor will be in 2008. No price has yet been announced but it is expected to become the most expensive production PWC yet sold.

Ah, only about the fourth repost. Don't feel too bad.

If they ever actually make production models, they'll only do it until they figure out just how profitable this market is.

Sorry about that - I did a search before posting but nothing came up on the site...my bad.

Kind of a cool looking top deck though - reminds me a little of an XPL for some reason.

I agree, sounds like a great platform. I think posts about this thing showed up sometime last fall, some European boatshow I believe.
Wherever HS/Benelli showed off their new stuff.

Remember, it is not the fall. It is the stop where the injury happens.
