That is a fine looking car and i am also a fan of the smaller modified inline fours, but dont underestimate the will of a supercharged V8 owned by a good tuner.

Here's a pic of my 1970 Olds 442. 455, 4 speed, 3:42 rear, ram air, all the goodies, not hacked, as close to original as I could get, and working "in-dash" 8 track player. Yes, it's a lot of fun and seems to draw attention (not always good!)

On a technical road course, yes. In a straight like Miatas just don't have the torque.

Granted, most mustang owners I've seen can't drive and would lose to riceboys in hondas. I've run with a few good ones at Sebring though.
