Re: just finished painting my project ski.

Looks sweet...you might want to flush out that gas tank before you put it back in the ski though. Next time stuff a rag in the end of it to keep garbage out while the ski is in pieces.

Re: just finished painting my project ski.

Thanks guys!!

im not using that gas tank thats just a spare from the other ski you see in the background.

the paint i used was the duplicolor ready to spray stuff at pepboys. and the bottom (white) is gelcoat. hopefully the paint holds up, if not, no big deal its not expensive paint. about 20 bucks a quart. took around 1 1/4 quarts per step (primer, color, Clear) at 3 coats per step. i decided to leave out the color sanding and buffing the orange peel out because once it gets wet you wont notice the orange peel. and i really dont care.

Re: just finished painting my project ski.

That looks really good. I'm planning on repainting my 93 SJ with a similar idea, just following the lines of the ski, nothing incredibly drastic. That clean and not over done look is best, IMO. Let us know how it holds up to the elements, Congrats..
