| Re: 550 Conversion This was one hell of a find.

i found this 550 on ebay durring the winter about a year ago. It has the 550 motor with a race pipe, westcoast fule tank, large carborators and a engine bore kit. On top of that the hull has i aftermarket ride plate and intake gate. I am not sure how big the bore was but when i start it it sound amazing.
i completely respect the idea of a 650 in 550 shell.
you are doing great work |

| Re: 550 Conversion the best i can remember is that its a 30 or maybe a 35mm carb. Its huge.
unfortunatly the prop is what ever it came out of the factory with.
what i do know is that the previous owner put some good money into this thing; the hull is a 1981 440 hull.
i looked up the documentation for it last night. Turns out its 1mm bore with a WSM crank shaft, the exhaust is super trapp and i forgot that it has a quick steer plate off the bar.
Would you want pictures? |

| Re: 550 Conversion Looking good so far! You may want to rethink the "no waterbox" aspect. It is going to be extremely loud, and loose much needed back pressure (performance loss)
Nice work to this point.
I have a blackjack 48mm that I am going to sell. PM me if you have any interest in it.

Would you want pictures? | Joe,
Your hull is not a 440, nor is it a 81. If memory serves me correctly its an 85 (based on decal) and its a 550, as Kawi never made a red 440 hull. The last two digits of the HIN (hull ID #) is the year. It can be found on the right rear as well as under the battery glued to the bottom of the hull
Also the mods you have are being happered by the poor OEM cast aluminum impeller. Junk that thing ASAP in favor of a SS one.
