how do I remove the old kill switch plate on my 550sx to swap to kill cord faceplate?

Hi just got my new faceplates for my x2 and 550sx. Got the x2 swapped no problem. But cant figure out how to get the switch face swapped out on my 550sx. Guessing it slides sideways but seems awful tight and I dont want to break it! There a trick?

it just slides out. Its supposed to be a tight fit so water doesn't get in there. You took the screw off right?

have you taken the switch assembly off the bars?? There is a screw on the bottem, that will allow the two halves to come apart. You then slide the faceplate off an put the new one on.

Screw was buried under some old sealant. Thanks!
