Re: replacement for the 900

The 1000 engine would almost be a direct replacement but the PTO shaft on the back of the engine is smaller than the early model 900 engine with the finger type coupler. You would also have to rejet the carbs to the 1000 specs. You could have your old coupler resized to fit the larger PTO shaft of the 1000 but that would have to be done at a machine shop.

If your looking for more power you could just get a cylinder top end kit http://www.sbtontheweb.com/Merchant2...roduct_Count=2 and then have someone port it and shave your heads.

Re: replacement for the 900

Can you rebuild the old engine? Did is explode it is common for the balancer shaft to let go and go threw the cases. I have some core engines here if you need cases ect for a rebuild.

Since you can't change the jet pump out to the newer style one a larger engine would not do much.
