Pic of nylon rope in grate / Impeller

Is there any way to put a wire or someway to make sure pump is clear without taking out of water,
My ski is docked behind my liveaboard boat,I have a job to pull ski, out,If I don"t have to,How would you suggest,I can check pump ,I made a hooked short gaff I use to pull seaweed out daily ,and I found this!! ,I don"t know if anything is still in pump,I pulled up reverse hood/scoop and impeller looks clear, but ,It still did"nt feel rite ,
I"am pulling ski out for winter in 2 weeks ,but was hoping for a few more hours riding around Lynn Harbor before I pull ski,I won"t take any chances of further damage if not!
SEE PIC!!!

Go for a swim?? Or ride it to a beach and roll it up on it's side so you can look into the intake. You will need to bring a friend to roll it up.

Ya! I kinda new you were going to say that! I will check! I tried to wait to install block off till ,I pull boat for winter, but oil pump And premix is making ski run bad @ idle to 1/4 throttle
I thought It would just foul plugs but it"s running real lousy, and as you say $100 repairs for everytime Iride with ski like that!!!!

If there is still rope on the shaft it could damage the carrier bearing/seals or jet pump seals?

Are you sure it is the oil mix that is causing the problem? How much oil are you using? If you change plugs does it run fine for a while and then start to act up?

Re: Pic of nylon rope in grate / Impeller

I did get vibration, before rope was pulled there is no water leak @ seal,Previous owner did tell me to replace impeller over winter ,I have the next 3 days off of work, the weather here in Boston area is forecast good for tomorrow, and I will find out about RE Rope
Both plugs look the same, real good ,just a little oil,on them, when I first start, carbs, are really loaded up then, starts to clear after 1 min. but stalls at idle and you have to work throttle to keep running. It" smoother @ 1/2 thrttle, but mo real speed like my 640 Montego,
Top end was done last winter ski has 10 hrs.since,I will post.fter I find more tomorrow ,
any suggestions!!
dank!!

Won't now until you switch it for premix and get the correct ratio. From there is would be carb adjustment.

Yes! I agree!
I could not get bottom (star) screw out while ski is in the water, maybe stripped, too It's too rocky with mirror.trying to work on .Took ski out today, nothing was in the impeller and ski ran great after carbs cleared out,@ 3/4 throttle. Then went into limp mode.I have to find a way to flush sys.wile in water.
water filter was clear, but have not been able to flush since I bought 2 weeks ago.water was flowing from port side!but I've seen more flow in other ski's

Re: Pic of nylon rope in grate / Impeller

Filter is clear,I will check the screen at pump inlet,But I was getting water out port side,
I'm going to disconnect inlet side of water filter and put extenion on ,so pump will pump overboard, and setup fresh water hose on inlet to engine ,this is the only way I can see to flush ski out ,while sitting in salt water.
I cannot pull ski out of water during season, the ski stays parked behind by boat where ,I live.
Do you see any problem ,flushing like that.PLS let me Know!!

Do you know another way to get bottom star screw out,If it's rusted or stripped !!I know you work on these oil pumps ect.all the time!!
