Monte Carlo 900 slow crank

I am working on a monte carlo 900 triple. I was going to winterize it for a freind but I cant get it started. It cranks real hard and slow for about 5 seconds until it kills the battery. I chargerd the battery and then tried a newer battery from my Sea doo which was bought this season. Same thing happened. Took plugs out and spins pretty good, put plugs back in, hooked up my 110A boost charger and same thing.

Checked all connnections on solenoid and all the way to the starter, everything seems good and tight. Bypassed the solenoid and same thing.

I have never had a starter go weak? Is it possible the starter is bad?

My friend had this thing running a few weeks ago???

ANY suggestions are appreciated........

Re: Monte Carlo 900 slow crank

Sounds like a starter to me. You sound like you ruled out most of the problem areas. If it is taking the battery down that fast, the windings may be shorted.
