How do you get the drive shaft out

Hi I have the complete jet off of a 1997 monte carlo and I would like to check the drive shaft seal in the hull and was wondering if I need a special tool to get the driveshaft out. Thank you for any info given and yes I am a complete newb lol

Some 97's have the old style engine coupler where the driveshaft will jut pull out the rear after you remove the pump. If it has been updated it will be screwed into the engine coupler and you will have to hold the coupler and unscrew the shaft from it.
