Help need info

Hi here is the story bought a 1997 monte carlo 770 got a good deal great shape heres the thing the stator mach was broke, caused by sucking up a rock i believe got the stator mach, but while i had the impeller off I put it on the shaft and turned the shaft but the motor dosnt turn, the shaft spins, so i took out the drive shaft and the teeth are gone. My question should i be concerned about the engine coupler the part the drive shaft goes into at the motor or are they usually ok when the drive shaft splines are gone. How hard and whats the best way to get the coupler off for a good look. Thanks

Yes the coupler will have to be replaced. It sounds like you have to old style coupler with splines. There is an uy\pdate kit that has a new coupler and shaft that are threaded at the engine side and last much longer than the splined ones.
