Fuel Issue

While running the ski a week ago it slowly died and would start and run for 10 sec and die. I removed the inline fuel filter as it was completely gummed up, removed the carbs and they were clean. I replaced the inline filter and don't seem to be getting fuel to the filter, i got a few dribbles, but that was all. Anyone know what I should check or ideas

Re: Fuel Issue

What model ski? Could be a cloged fuel selector switch or could be cloged fule pickup line or cracked/missing fuel pickup line.

Re: Fuel Issue

Check the fule tank pickup and the pulse line fron the cases to the carbs for cracks. Also presure test the fule lines from the carb to the tank if they are leaking it will suck air faster than gas.

Re: Fuel Issue

Finally got around to working on this one, fuel lines have no cracks, pick ups are there and have clean screan ends on them. Is the fuel selector able to be cleaned out?

I took the feed line off, and blew air in it, tank swells like a capri sun then after gas should come out from the pressure and prime your carbs nice if you're quick.

Re: Fuel Issue

Pushing fuel into places by injecting air would have to done VERY gently, about 1/2-1 psi, as that tank wasn't built for it. You should run it naturally to see if the thing can pick up fuel on its own. I'm suspect of the fuel selector valve. Mine leaked air into the system.

Pfft it runs great now. In all reality this should not ever be necessary, My issue was the lines routed incorrectly.
