95 Monte Carlo choke vs primer bulb

I have a 95 Monte Carlo with a broken choke shaft (Mikuni sbn 46-42). Thats probably why it was hard to start after it sat awhile. Has anyone installed a primer kit on one of these? I read somewhere to install the kit you remove the choke shaft and install some kind of brass jet in it's place. I am interested in your thoughts and comments.
Thanks

Re: 95 Monte Carlo choke vs primer bulb

You can use a large set of vise grips and a small socket to install the primer fittings in the carbs after you remove the choke shafts. I use a little JB on the outside of the fitting before i install them.
