Unifilter install questions.

I got the filter kit with the breather and air filter. There are a few questions:
1) There is a gray hose coming off the rear third of the air box tube that appears to lead to a solenid on the rear of the enging in route to the Tee near the turbo. What do I do with it?
2) There appears to be a fitting holding the air box tube on directly centered at the base of the engine that needs to be removed in order to take the air box tube out. It appears (by Mac's intercooler instructions) that there is a lot of air box and IC disassembly that needs to be done to get to this one screw. Thoughts?
3) There is a clear hose that attaches to the bottom of the air box tube that leads to a breather. I'm assuming that this isn't needed.

I was hoping for a simple filter swap and removal of the factory air box but it appears that it isn't a simple as this and was looking for some clarification before I tear the side of the engine off. I have the Alpha kit coming if that changes anything. I haven't seen these topics in any of the old posts that I found. Thanks in advance.

Here are some pics:
1) Gray hose in the center with the red stripe:

3) The clear/amber tube that goes to a breather:

Placement of the breather. Assume this is OK?

Re: Unifilter install questions.

Gray hose does nothing but vent into the atmosphere
You don't have to remove the old air box parts unless your installing a upgraded intercooler
Clear hose is a tell tale for dealer use.....tells if the ski has been flipped and water got into the intake of the turbo....you can delete the hose.

Your breather install looks good, you want to keep it as high as possable

Re: Unifilter install questions.

on the earlier models, 03,04, the intake tube must be removed by dissasembly or cut out. 05 and up you can remove the rubber adapter that is attached to the turbo inlet. the Unifilter fits in the space nicely. The breather can be tied up or just zip tied off at the bottom. I prefer the latter.

So it's bad that mine has some water in it I'd guess... Seems to run great.

Re: Unifilter install questions.

I'm pretty sure the airboxes are different for the different models/years. I was able to leave mine in place and just remove a small section that connects the inlet to the airbox. I would need to remove the side panel and intake (I think) to remove the airbox, so I just left it there.

Re: Unifilter install questions.

Mac can tell you for sure but I think on 05 and up you can leave the air box in place but on the 04 and pervious you need to remove the air box. At least on the R12x/
