If I remember correctly, better acceleration especially in chop, but lower top end.

You are right, stock, but i think he'll get more on top too since he has the mac goodies on there as well. Cant believe he's churnin' that kinda hp with a stock prop..i thought you'd just sit and cavitate.

The Solas is better than the stock impeller [which is also a Solas]. The best price I have found was at Parkeryamaha.com .

I have the same set up . gps 64.5 with full tank and fairly smooth water. my wgh-185.
with the solas I get a little better bite on take off. From what I have been reading here I think that's as good as I am going to get. 04 R12X

Re: solas 17/29

you could try bending your prop or if you don't know how then send to carl at islandracing.net and ask him to bend your stock prop to 18/30 pitch.

Re: solas 17/29

I have ran the Solas 17/29 last year, Macsboost recommends it, and includes it in his kit. Looks like I will be picking up Skat-Trax for a sponsor this year, so I will update the difference once I have it installed. Either way, its much better than the stock impeller...
