'New' 2007 F12X

I'm close to purchasing a new 2007 F12X for $6,299 (plus trailer, cover, step-up, 3 year extended service contract, taxes etc.)

Any concerns buying a ski that has been sitting in a wareouse somewhere for close to 3 years?

I plan to make the purchase now but probably won't take delivery for a month or two.
The salesman told me if I take delivery now they will need to do the setup process which includes running the engine with water. If they do that, I would need to winterize it as soon as I get it home. Any problems with waiting until after the cold months to take delivery?

Also, anything specific I should be checking out when I do get the ski.

TIA,
Brad

I bought an 04 R12x in 07. I had a knock sensor go bad but was repaired under warranty. It still runs good with 200+ hrs. Just ask Brokeazz. He's ran with it. I aslo bought an 07 f12x in 09. I like it a lot too. NO problems 100+hrs. Hope you have a great time.

I'd wait on the delivery, unless you plan on riding it in the next few months...

And plenty of people have bought left-over Hondas, so I'd say you should be just fine there as well.

I don't know of any issues from them sitting, except maybe the battery.

Re: 'New' 2007 F12X

I got a F12 2 weeks ago. I enquired about it all...the battery is dry until they put the electrolyte in it, so it is new. They put gas and oil in it and fired it up, but didn't run water thru it, so no need to winterize. No worries about it sitting up...I uncrated a bike after 17 years of storage and it fired up like new.

Re: 'New' 2007 F12X

Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead and put down a deposit on the ski. Will probably wait until sometime in April to pick it now.

This is my first PWC...I have a lot of reading and learning to do from this site.

I did a quick search but didn't see much...when should I do the first oil change?

Re: 'New' 2007 F12X

I bought a new 2005 F12x in 2007 - on crate for 2 year. Have 230 hours on it and have had ZERO problems. My advice - spray the whole engine and turbo and jet nossel linkage with CRC 656 after each ride. Have fun.
