Need help!

Hey guys i own a 2005 r-12x with about 25 hours on it. Today i took it out and it seemed to run just fine until i would do a hard 360 or 180. in which it would seem to bog out kinda, as if the turbo wouldent kick it until i got out of the hole. I know its not normal cause it never done it b4. Anyone ever have this issue? plz let me know what u guys think. Thanks!

Re: Need help!

Seems kind of weird and being you are only having the issue when spinning I would suspect the issue from the turbo but it could be. I would suspect it is more of a fuel delivery problem. Anyways post a picture of you turbo and we can most likely tell you if your turbo has a problem. As long as there is not any corrosion on the turbo or waste gate actuator then most likely it is not a turbo problem. Do you CRC 6-56 your turbo often?

Re: Need help!

Did it feel like the turbo was working otherwise when you weren't turning? Or did it bog when you took off from a dead stop?

Re: Need help!

i would probably say it was just cavitation especially if there was any kind of current or wakes. Spinning out like that at half to full throttle will also cause a lot of heat soak and cavitation.

That's what I was leaning toward. That's why I asked when it did it to see if it runs ok once he has turned just to eliminate possibility of something stuck in impeller. It is kind of odd that it just started happening.

Re: Need help!

It could be cavitation but i dont think so. It doesnt bog when from a dead stop. And i had a full tank of gas. Im gonna take it out today and see if i can get a better description on whats going on.

Re: Need help!

Change your plugs. They tend to get fouled when doing these manuevers. Most when they do this do not let off the throttle and the engine gets into the rev limiter. It cuts the ignition to prevent revs over 6500. The fuel is still on so it over loads the cylinders with fuel. Then when it goes back to idle its too rich and fouls the plugs. The stall is created from the engine trying to clean the plugs back off.

I've changed plugs alot on friends Honda's because of this. They do more spins banging the rev limiter than they do running it wide open for awhile to clean the plugs back off. Some long, wide open runs for several minutes will help prolong the plug change if you like to do a lot of spins. And for gee whiz, Honda's are not the only brand that falls victim to this.
