no fire slx 780

I have a 95 slx 780 and when I would be riding it it would be running great then just randomly shut of or when i would hit a wake it would shut of. Sometimes it would fire right back up and other times i would have to let it sit for a minute to start. I also have a 96 sl 900 and it did a similar thing i started at the house got it ready to go and when i put it in at the baot ramp it wouldnt start, i got it home and it seems like it just lost fire to. I dont get it cause it started right up at the house and ran great but when i got it down there it had nothing. I would greatly appreciate any help i can get.

could possibly be your stop lockplate, where the wrist lanyard hooks in. stop switch would be the first place to check.

Re: no fire slx 780

i unplugged the stop switch and bypassed it and it still does it and now the 780 wont fire at all i have new coils comming for them just to see if that will fix it and i guess ill start replacing electronics from there and see what happens unless anybody knows of anything else. I did hear that the polaris has alot of saftey switches that will shut the fire of in curtain circumstances.

Re: no fire slx 780

try unplugging your MFD. sometimes the MFD can cause them to go into limp mode, or possibly no power. check out greenhulk.net there is alot of polaris dudes there that know a whole lot about these machines.

Re: no fire slx 780

Sorry, it is the display, as stated by the other reply, they can give the electronics a false lockdown or limp mode, even if they are reading "correctly". Just wondering, is your MFD reading any errors, or red flashing light???

Yes it did start acting crazy and it will flash low fuel then say oil across it and the red light will randomly flash and sometimes it will just all shut of and completly be of.

Re: no fire slx 780

Check out www.greenhulk.net there are alot of really experienced polaris guys on there that could definetly help better than me. If you are not a member, just sign up like this one, and the people there are great. Not saying they are not on PWC today, but there are hundreds of polaris tech's on there that really know their stuff. I am certain they can get you up and running, and lead you to the place to get all the parts you'll need for these older machines.
