95 slx 780 question.

hi i have a 95 slx 780 . it has some burned wires from the brain box that run down to the bottom left side of the block . when i got it the guy tried to start it it did crank but didnt fire. ive heard that it was a commin prob on the 780 the brain box was up grated and was also told that if the wires buned it could have taken out my stater or poss dropped a cyl. i havent done a compression test yet , i heard parts are hard to get for this and expensive so...should i even bother ? any help appreciated thankx!

Re: 95 slx 780 question.

parts - cheap (if you know where to look), labor - cheap (if you can do it yourself).. hopefully you didn't pay much for a non running ski.. troubleshoot the electrical, its in the shop manual. If you give up or don't have the funds, i'll take it and put it to good use.
