780 slx engine in my slt 750?

I am changing out my engine in my 95 slt 750 to a 96 slx 780. I was wondering if i need to change out my cdi box? I am using the 750 carbs with bigger jets that was stock with the 780. Is the timing gonna be right? Anything else i need to do? Any info is appreciated!!

Yes your 750 cdi will work, no you do not need to change the timing, although a pro 785 cdi will add quite a bit of power (mostly due to advance) and you shouldnt have any problems with the carbs as long as you switched the jets over.

Re: 780 slx engine in my slt 750?

Hi,
iám from germany, last year i bought a slx pro 785. my first problem is that i don´t have a startor plate! And when i have such a plate iám not sure if the electric is working.
in germany is it very difficult to find things for a Polaris slx pro 785.. can someone help me to find e-box with the cdi and a startor plate?
FLjoyrider wrote you can us a cdi from a 750. can i us it also in a 785pro? and woks that exhaust valve correct?
what is different between a slx785 and a slx pro785 ?

I hope someone can help me.
Thanks rüdi

Hello luu21.

You should look for parts at greenhulk.net

That's where all the Polaris guys are at.

No, a 750 CDI won't work in a PRO.

There's a SLX 780, and a SLX 785 PRO.

Major difference between them.

Hull, carbs, stroker crankshaft, exhaust, etc.... all different.

A PRO is a factory built race ski that runs 63 MPH stock.

A SLX 780 is a performance recreational ski that runs around 52 MPH.
