2002 1200 Virage TXI has no power (electrical)?

Previous owner sold the ski not running so i know no history.Put in a brand new battery(fully charged) and i get nothing-no power no clicks and no MFD display.I have checked the cables and everything is clean-power and ground.but when i put a test light on the negative side of the battery and touch the engine block it lights up.So what could be causing the engine to not be grounded?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You probably need a new computer.
This is a common problem with those skis.
I think they are around $700?

A bad ground wire.. trace the ground wire from the battery terminal.. it should go to the starter which is bolted to the engine (or somewhere around the starter). thats probably all thats wrong with it. check for corrosion on the cable ends, make sure the wire hasnt corroded inside the plastic sheilding as well. If you find corrosion on the stranded wire, best to just replace the whole thing.. You can get 4 gage wire from napa or a parts store and buy your own tips to solder on. they will also have shrink wrap so you can make it look nice and pretty.
