1996 Polaris SLT 780 No Fire?

Hey, I have a 96 SLT 780 thats has a wierd fire situation. It fires once when you push the start button and once when you let up, nothing in between when the motor is cranking. It started out with the stator bolts backing out and chewed the stator and flywheel up. I replaced both with known good parts off another ski that ran fine. Ski has good battery, start & kill switches check out, Tried CDI and Coils off other ski, same issues. Jumped the starter with another battery to eliminate draw on ski battery, same results. Any ideas?

sounds like your start stop switch... check with a multi meter to be sure.
