The 2012 date being circulated comes from the ban at Lake Mead National Recreation area. After December 31, 2012 the ban begins, so its actually 2013. There may be other very localized bans happening in some National parks but there is no nationwide ban on 2 strokes. And if you read closely in the ruling for LMNRA it is for normally aspirated two strokes that dont meet the 2006 CARB restrictions.

A total ban is a myth. This has been discussed may times here. Do a search.

Which is what they did in a roundabout way. They made the emission rules so tight on those small engines that it will be impossible for them to comply with a carburetor....I believe those rules begin next year.

LAME!!!

Just another example of our government imposing restrictions on the individual while corporate America is given free reign!

write your Congressman and/or Senator

Tell them you are tired of NOT being represented.

Tell them that you don't want government taking your every freedom away from you.

Then once you have concluded that you are not (nor are you going to be) represented nearly as well as the corporations are ( and always will be) .... start preparing your exit strategy.

I recommend Central or South America. <<< scratch that... Go somewhere else... LOL

the next generation of 2 stroke engines will be DI and with the cost of manufacturing in Chine of the 4 stroke motors it has to be given to the 4 stroke.... It is simple Government mathematics with the 100% margin of error and Al Gores' clones we have now..................

None the less no ban of 2 strokes except in Calipoonia
