To run this carb, I'd need a different manifold then? | Every single standard aftermarket carb out there will bolt to any aftermarket manifold. You may have to open up the manifold opening a bit to match it to the carb size, but it will bolt up. Quote:
Great question bro...I was wondering what everyone was doing to upgrade that side of the motor...
i see other dudes ski pic's and most have a single carb setup....so i was always wondering why not duals?? and there are some really nice tricked out FX1's to look at one here and the X...
are duals just that much tuffer reliablity wise?
If ya have a pipe why not duals?
| FX1's came with 61X engine cases. Those are made for single carbs.
There aren't that many dual carb 61X intake manifolds out there. The 61X cases are best used with the single carb setup.
If you want duals, just buy 62T cases and use those. Better cases, ready for dual carbs.
While properly tuned duals do give more power, the difference isn't anywhere near as dramatic as stock exhaust vs aftermarket pipe. |
