Trip consistently went like this: ride 100 feet, get thrashed by huge seas--ride 100 feet, get thrashed by huge seas--ride 100 feet, get thrashed...well, you get the idea.
Then the boat got some kind of electrical short when we finally beached it. The starter was engaged and constantly turning over engine until it finally died. Battery was literally smoking! At first I thought it was "dieseling", but then realized it was starter turning engine over. It was a very long, miserable tow back in some rough seas.
