What year is ths is GP 1200R millenium edition?

Can anyone tell me what year this is. The owner thinks its a 2001 but he really has no idea and doen't speak english so well. Its like a 2 hour drive from my house so I would like to know what year it is before I go look at it. Any known problems with this year ski?
Thanks

not trying to make fun of you and really don't know.

but i would guess 2000 or 2001 depending on the name of the ski.

2000

the last 2 digits in the HIN symbolise the year.

What is up with that seat?

If you get it, get a hyrdoturf one or something..that thing is hideous.

Re: What year is ths is GP 1200R millenium edition?

As for known issues.
The 2000 and early 01 GPR's had issues with power valve retainers vibrating out thus allowing the power valve to drop and hit the piston. Usually resulted in a destroyed piston and cylinder damage. Wave Eater clips and/or updated valves solve that.
Catalytic converters will self destruct so might as well get it out and replace it with a d-plate. This will allow you to run a better oil than Yamagube which will greatly reduce the amount of gunk built up around the power valves.

Other than that, good skis.

Re: What year is ths is GP 1200R millenium edition?

I haven't seen the ski in person so that is why I was asking the year. The seat cover color is what was throwing me off on the year since I couldn't find any pics on the net with that horrible color to try and match the year to it. I was going to look at it for a buddy but the seller says he can't find the title and there is a lienholder so it would only be good for parts unless you paid the lien and he has no idea how much that is for.
Thanks for all the help though. He will sell it for $1300 with trailer if anyone needs it for parts, its in Sacramento CA. Like I said before the guy can barely speak english so talking to him on the phone is almost impossible. PM me if anyone wants his number

thats correct, yes get rid of that seat color, jettrim /hydroturf ,they have nicer and a less slippery material for that ski, i think its better than that slippery vinyl **** BTW thats why yamaha got rid of the PVs in 05 and beyond, too many problems, but the waveeaters helped

Yep, plus it's just a shltty thing to do. He bought a toy that he couldn't afford, and instead of giving it back to the people that were good enough to foot the bill for it (so he could go play), he's selling it illegally to try and get some money out of it for himself. Nobody wants to take responsibility for themselves anymore.

Welcome to the new America.
