Problem accelerating from dead stop. 1996 Waveblaster 760.

Everything ran perfect until yesterday at the lake. I was driving the jetski kind of hard (like any other day) and i shook the jetski left and right and did a 180 on water. as it came to a stop i full throttled it and got out of the hole just fine. right after that, it sort of sputtered i think and the problem started to happen.

When the jetski is at a complete stop, and i try to full throttle, it will hesitate/bog for a second or two making this humming noise like its hitting the rev-limiter and it will get moving again. No problem after it starts to move again, but the problem only happens when the ski is at a complete stop. It either will bog/hesitate or it will stall down everynow and then when i try and full throttle from a complete stop.

what can be the problem? I just changed the spark plug, looked pretty weak. i'm going to the lake now and test it out again, but i was wondering what else can be the problem here.

You may have something in the pump. Check your intake grate. Happened to me a few weekends ago.

Well i took my jetski to the lake today and same thing happened. No power what so ever from a complete stop and it stalls out. i have to feather the gas until it gets moving a little and i can full throttle. I still have the same amount of power when it hits full throttle but no power what so ever when its at a complete stop.

Re: Problem accelerating from dead stop. 1996 Waveblaster 760.

Well i recently purchased the jetski. I took it out over 20times already within this 3 months. no problem what so ever. According to the owner he did a full service on it. Including cleaning the carb/ fuel system. Dont know if this is true, where is the fuel filter located at? in the gas tank? i will check up on that right now .

Also i am going to check the cylinders for compression. Hopefully they both have compression. crossing fingers.

Re: Problem accelerating from dead stop. 1996 Waveblaster 760.

Compression came out good. Front one was 150 exact. and second one was 148.

fuel filter looked pretty good too. Took them off and blew on one side and good free flow so im guessing its not that clogged.

Dammit..........what can it be.

I'm still going to the dealer tomorrow to get the filter just encase and ask the technicians there if they can chime in.

The Jetski idles good and doesn't stall out on water and out of water. ski runs good once it gets moving, no power loss in top end side. But when the ski is not moving in water, and i full throttle (WOT) the ski stalls out or it takes a little bit of time (a second or so usually) till it kicks in and it pulls strong. When it stalls out, the jetski will turn on immediately after...

check your diaframe. I had a wave raider that did the same thing. I cleaned the carbs and replaced the diaframes and it worked.
